Your first online shop

Set up your first online shop, for a fixed $1,250

$1,250 · up to 50 products · live in 2 weeks · prices in US dollars

The short answer

If your business already works and you’re going from a Facebook page, Instagram or a brochure site to a real online shop, we set one up on Shopify for a fixed $1,250 in US dollars. It covers up to 50 products, with payments, shipping and tax set up and explained in plain words. It’s typically live in 2 weeks.

Key facts

As of October 2026

  • Setting up a first online shop on Shopify costs $1,250 (USD) with us, for up to 50 products.
  • It’s typically live in 2 weeks.
  • Payments, shipping and tax are set up, and explained once, in plain words.
  • The domain, the Shopify account and every login are in your name from day one.
  • The running costs, which are the Shopify subscription, any apps and your domain renewal, are paid by you directly.
  • Half is paid to start, and half at launch. Never all of it up front.

What do I need before I set up an online shop?

Six things to get ready before you pay anyone to build your store.

  • Photos of every product. Same light, same background. A phone is enough.
  • Descriptions. Size, material, what’s in the box. Write down the answers you give in DMs.
  • Prices and stock. One sheet, every product, every variant.
  • Delivery rates. What you charge, where you ship, how long it takes.
  • Returns policy. How it works, in plain words.
  • A logo, even a simple one.

I’ve never sold online. Will this be over my head?

No. Tell us what you sell and who buys it, and we’ll tell you what it costs, what it doesn’t include, and when it could be live, in words you’d use yourself.

You send us the products and answer a few questions. We set up the fiddly parts, such as payments, shipping rules and tax, and record a walkthrough of the three things you’ll most often want to change.

I sell through Instagram and messages. What changes with a shop?

Customers see the price, check what’s in stock and pay without messaging you first. And the shop is in your name: your web address, your customer list and your checkout, not an account you don’t own.

Will an online shop get me more sales?

On its own, no.

A website doesn’t bring people to you. Your Instagram does that. Your regulars do. Your ads do.

What it changes is what happens when they get there. They can see the price without asking. See whether it’s in stock. Pay at eleven at night while you’re asleep.

So the question isn’t whether a website finds you customers. It’s how many of the ones you already have stop before they buy.

Should my first shop be on Shopify or WooCommerce?

If you don’t already have a WordPress site, we’d set your first shop up on Shopify. If you do, a WooCommerce shop can add selling to it. Both cost the same with us.

What if I’m not ready yet?

Then we’ll say so. If you have twelve products and no photos, a shop is premature, and we’d rather tell you that than take the money. Start with the six things above, and book a call when you’re ready.

How does setting up a first online shop work?

  1. 01

    Tell us what you sell

And who buys it, on a 20-minute call, or by email if you’d rather not book one.

  2. 02

    The scope, in writing

What’s included, what isn’t, the price, the dates, and what we need from you and by when. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed it.

  3. 03

    You approve the design

Your products in it, before anybody writes code. Two rounds of changes are included.

  4. 04

    The build

Up to 50 products loaded from what you send, then payments, shipping and tax set up, and payments tested.

  5. 05

    Launch, with a walkthrough

Your domain connected, in your name, and a recorded walkthrough of the admin.

  6. 06

    Thirty days of fixes

Anything that breaks in the first thirty days after launch, we fix, at no charge.

What’s included, and what isn’t?

Included

  • A theme set up around your products, colours and logo
  • Or designed from scratch if the brief needs it
  • Up to 50 products loaded
  • Payments, shipping and tax set up
  • Every app named, with its monthly cost, before it is installed
  • Domain connected, a recorded walkthrough, thirty days of fixes

Not included

  • The Shopify subscription, paid by you to Shopify
  • App subscriptions, named and priced before you agree to any
  • A paid theme licence if the design needs one
  • Product photography
  • Product descriptions beyond editing what you send
  • Products above the number included
  • Anything after the thirty days

The running costs are yours and paid directly by you, so nothing sits in our name. We’ll tell you what each one is and roughly what it comes to before you commit.

What else do people ask?

How much does it cost to set up an online shop?

$1,250 in US dollars with us, for a Shopify shop with up to 50 products, and payments, shipping and tax set up. The Shopify subscription, any apps and your domain renewal are separate, and you pay them directly.

How long does it take to set up an online shop?

Typically 2 weeks. The clock starts when you approve the design, and the dates are written into the scope before you agree to anything.

What does it cost to run each month?

The Shopify subscription and any apps, both paid by you directly, plus your domain renewal. We tell you what each one is and roughly what it comes to before you commit to anything, and we won’t install a paid app without pricing it first.

What if I don’t have product photos or descriptions yet?

Then that’s the first thing to sort, and it isn’t in the price. We’ll place and tidy what you send, but writing descriptions and taking photographs are separate jobs. We’d rather say so than quietly charge you for them.

Can I edit it myself afterwards?

Yes, and you’ll be shown how. You get the admin login and a recorded walkthrough. If you’d rather never touch it, that’s fine too, and you’ll know what a change costs before you ask for it.

Do I own everything?

Yes. Domain, Shopify account, theme files, images. All in your name and on your card from the start, so nobody can hold them over you.

What do I pay upfront?

Half. The rest at launch. If you’ve been burned before, that’s the point of the split.

Do you work with businesses in the UK and Canada?

Yes. We work with businesses in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, at the same prices, in US dollars. Every message gets a reply within one working day, and calls are booked at a time that suits you.
