Website rescue
Finish the website someone else started
Fixed after a written account · 2 to 3 weeks · prices in US dollars
The short answer
If your developer has disappeared or the build has stalled, we take it over. First, a written account of what was built, what wasn’t and what’s worth keeping. Then a fixed price, in US dollars, to finish it, typically in 2 to 3 weeks. We take over Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce builds in the US, the UK and Canada.
Key facts
As of October 2026
- Taking over a build is a fixed price, set after a written account of what’s there.
- The written account comes before you commit to anything: what was built, what wasn’t, and what’s worth keeping.
- It typically takes 2 to 3 weeks, and the dates are written into the scope before you agree to anything.
- Anything a previous developer still holds that can’t be recovered is identified on day one.
- Where rebuilding costs less than repairing, we tell you before doing either.
- We take over builds on Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Half is paid to start, and half at launch. Never all of it up front.
My web developer has disappeared. What do I do first?
Find out what’s in your name. The domain, the hosting or Shopify account, and the admin logins matter most, because they’re what someone else can hold over you.
Then send us the site’s address and whatever access you have. On day one we identify anything a previous developer still holds that can’t be recovered, so you know where you stand before you commit to finishing anything.
What is the written account?
A plain description of what was built, what wasn’t, and what’s worth keeping, with a fixed price to finish it. You read it before you commit to anything.
It takes up to 2 working days, and it’s free.
Will you repair what’s there or start again?
Whichever costs you less. If rebuilding part of the site costs less than repairing it, we tell you before doing either, and the written account says which parts are worth keeping.
How do I know you won’t disappear too?
If we stop replying and haven’t told you in advance why, you keep everything built so far and owe nothing further. Your domain, hosting and logins are in your name from the start, so there’s nothing for us to hold.
Payment is in two stages: half to start, half at launch, never all of it up front. If you’ve been burned before, that’s the point of the split. Every message gets a reply within one working day.
Which platforms can you take over?
Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce. If your build is on another platform, such as Wix, Squarespace, Magento or BigCommerce, we don’t finish it there, but moving the store to Shopify may be the answer.
How does taking over a build work?
- 01
A 20-minute call
What you sell, what you have now, what it needs to do. If a package fits, we say which. If nothing does, we say that too.
- 02
The written account
What was built, what wasn’t, and what’s worth keeping, with anything a previous developer still holds identified on day one.
- 03
A fixed price to finish it
In writing, with what’s included, what isn’t and the dates. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed it.
- 04
The build completed
You get a written note at the end of every week on what moved and what is next.
- 05
Launch and handover
On a dated day, with the same handover as every other project: everything in your name.

What else do people ask?
How much does it cost to finish a website someone else started?
It depends on what’s there, which is why the written account comes first. Then you get a fixed price, in US dollars, before you commit to anything. If rebuilding costs less than repairing, we tell you before doing either.
How long does it take to finish a website?
Typically 2 to 3 weeks. The dates are written into the scope before you agree to anything.
Can you just look at my existing site?
Yes. A paid diagnostic call, and the fee comes off a larger project if you go ahead.
Is the price actually fixed?
Yes, for the scope printed on the page. If you ask for something outside it, we quote that separately and you decide before we build it. Nothing is added to an invoice without your agreement first.
What do I pay upfront?
Half. The rest at launch. If you’ve been burned before, that’s the point of the split.
Do you work with businesses in the UK and Canada?
Yes. We work with businesses in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, at the same prices, in US dollars. Every message gets a reply within one working day, and calls are booked at a time that suits you.
Stuck with a half-built site?
Book a 20-minute call and bring the site’s address and whatever access you have. We’ll tell you what happens next, and if finishing it isn’t worth it, we’ll say so.
