Magento to Shopify
Magento to Shopify migration, for a fixed $1,250
$1,250 · up to 300 products · 3 to 4 weeks · prices in US dollars
The short answer
We move Magento (Adobe Commerce) stores of up to 300 products to Shopify for a fixed $1,250 in US dollars, with your customers, your order history and a redirect from every old address. Magento features such as customer groups, tier prices, bundles and store views don’t map one to one, so the written scope lists what changes first.
Key facts
As of October 2026
- A Magento to Shopify migration costs $1,250 (USD) for up to 300 products and 1,000 variants, typically in 3–4 weeks.
- Magento’s built-in export writes products, customers, customer addresses, advanced pricing and stock sources to CSV. Orders export separately, from the Orders grid.
- Magento has seven product types. Shopify allows 3 options and 2,048 variants per product, and handles bundles and downloads with apps.
- Magento product and category addresses can end in a suffix such as .html. Shopify’s have no suffix and fixed beginnings, so every one needs a redirect.
- Adobe’s lifecycle policy (updated 18 September 2026) ends standard support for Adobe Commerce 2.4.7 on 31 May 2027. For 2.4.6 it ended on 11 August 2026.
- Shopify’s free Store Migration app doesn’t support Magento.
What can you export from Magento?
Magento’s export, under System › Data Transfer › Export, writes CSV files of products, advanced pricing, customers, customer addresses and stock sources. Orders aren’t part of it: they export from the Orders grid, as CSV or Excel XML.
Magento stores customer passwords only in a scrambled (hashed) form, so they can’t move, and Shopify can’t import them anyway. Shopify’s import order is products first, then customers, then orders.
How do Magento addresses map to Shopify?
Magento builds addresses from URL keys, often with a suffix; Shopify uses fixed beginnings. So nearly every address changes:
- Products: /{product}.html becomes /products/{product}. If your store puts the category path in product addresses, those are mapped too.
- Categories: /{category}.html becomes /collections/{category}.
- CMS pages: /{page} becomes /pages/{page}.
- Magento keeps a rewrite for each store view, and one install can run several websites and store views. Every view’s addresses are mapped, and other currencies and languages move to Shopify Markets.
What doesn’t map one to one?
- Bundle products. Shopify needs a bundles app; Shopify’s own free Bundles app handles fixed bundles of up to 30 components.
- Grouped products. Shopify’s nearest feature, Combined Listings, is on the Plus and enterprise plans only.
- Downloadable products. They’re set up again with Shopify’s own Digital Products app.
- Customer groups and tier prices. Magento uses them for discounts and quantity prices. Shopify’s customer import has no group column, and its quantity price breaks are a B2B feature that depends on your plan.
- Custom attributes. They become Shopify metafields.
- Extensions, CMS blocks and widgets. They’re Magento software and content features, so they’re rebuilt in the Shopify theme or replaced with apps.
- Gift cards, store credit and reward points (Adobe Commerce). Shopify can’t create gift cards from a CSV; gift cards and store credit move through a migration app or Shopify’s API.
Is my Magento version still supported?
Adobe’s lifecycle policy for Adobe Commerce, updated 18 September 2026, ends standard support for 2.4.7 on 31 May 2027 and for 2.4.8 on 31 May 2028. Standard support for 2.4.6 ended on 11 August 2026, with extended support to 31 August 2027. For Magento Open Source, Adobe’s October 2026 security bulletin limits patch downloads to 2.4.7 and later.
An unsupported version is a reason to move or to upgrade. We only do the move: we don’t upgrade Magento.
Can I move from Magento to Shopify myself?
Yes, with CSV files and an app for the orders, though Shopify has no Magento guide and its Store Migration app doesn’t support Magento. Shopify’s general migration guide and Adobe’s documentation give these steps:
- Export from Magento’s Admin: System › Data Transfer › Export, once each for Products, Customers Main File and Customer Addresses, as CSV. The export runs in the background through Magento’s message queue, so its cron job has to be running.
- Rework the files into Shopify’s product and customer CSV templates. Magento’s columns aren’t Shopify’s, and Shopify’s customer import has no column mapping, so each column is renamed.
- Import them in Shopify: Products › Import first, then Customers › Import.
- Bring order history across with a migration app or Shopify’s API, if you want it: Shopify doesn’t import orders from a CSV file. Import products first, then customers, then orders, and turn off Shopify’s new-order emails first, or your staff get one for each order imported.
- Set up your theme, shipping, taxes and payments, then place a few test orders.
- Add the redirects before the domain moves, as Shopify advises: in Shopify, Content › Menus › URL redirects, one at a time or by importing a CSV file. Each /{product}.html goes to /products/{product}, for every store view.
- Then connect your domain: in Shopify, Settings › Domains › Connect existing domain, and change the domain’s A and www CNAME records to Shopify’s. Or transfer it to Shopify, with the transfer code from the company you registered it with. Save a copy of its DNS records first, email (MX) records included, because Shopify doesn’t copy them. A .co.uk domain can’t be transferred to Shopify, so it’s connected instead.
From Shopify’s migration guide, the Store Migration app’s listing, Adobe’s data export page, Shopify’s URL redirects page, Shopify’s page on connecting a domain and Shopify’s page on transferring a domain, checked on 28 October 2026.
When is it worth paying for a move from Magento?
Done yourself, Magento’s features are the work: bundles, grouped products, customer groups, tier prices and extensions each need a Shopify app or setting, and every store view’s addresses need a redirect.
If your store is small, with simple products and not much search traffic to protect, Shopify’s own steps are enough, and you don’t need us. Paying makes sense when there are hundreds of products to restructure, history to keep, or no time to check it all: the package is $1,250 in US dollars for up to 300 products, with the redirect map, a written rollback and thirty days of fixes.

What else do people ask?
How much does a Magento to Shopify migration cost?
$1,250 in US dollars for up to 300 products and 1,000 variants, with the redirect map included. The Shopify subscription and any app fees are separate, and you pay them to Shopify.
How do I convert my Magento store to Shopify?
There’s no converter: Shopify’s Store Migration app doesn’t support Magento. You export products and customers from System › Data Transfer › Export, rework the CSV files into Shopify’s templates and import them, then move orders with a migration app or Shopify’s API. The redirects go in before the domain moves.
My Magento store has more than 300 products. Now what?
Then the package doesn’t fit and we’ll quote you properly. Send the address and we’ll tell you what it costs before you pay us anything. Being outside the ceiling isn’t a problem, it’s just a different number.
Can my customer groups and wholesale prices come across?
Not as they are. Shopify’s customer import has no group column, and its quantity price breaks are part of Shopify B2B, whose features depend on your plan. The scope says how each one is rebuilt, and anything beyond the package is quoted separately.
Will my customers need new passwords?
Passwords never move between platforms: Shopify can’t import them. With Shopify’s current customer accounts there’s no password to set, because customers sign in with a one-time code sent by email.
Do you upgrade Magento?
No. We build on Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce only. If you’d rather stay on Magento, we’re not the right people.
Moving from Magento?
